Welcome to the HBS Club of Atlanta. Founded in 1934 our Atlanta Club is one of the oldest regional alumni clubs. We have over 1200 MBA and Executive Education Alumni in the area and we continue to grow. Our new Co-President, Delis Yanker has been associated with the club for over 25 years. The club has always been strong and serves as a base to keep the local Alumni connected to each other and the Business School. This year we are focusing on the theme of Fellowship to build on the strong bonds which you developed while on campus.
We especially welcome all of the 2012 graduates and hope they will inspire us with their newfound knowledge. We have over 30 events each year and hope to offer something for everyone. We kick off the year with the Opening Party. This year it will be held Thursday September 13 at the Buckhead Club. All new graduates, including Executive Education Alumni, can join the HBSCA and are invited as guests of the club to the Opening Party. As a special bonus this year we will have a pre-party presentation entitled Estate and Gift Planning after 2012 - "Back to the Future." Don Etheridge is Director of Gift Planning at HBS and has given this popular talk at the HBS reunions.
This year marks the advent of several new initiatives and events. HBS is celebrating 50 years of women at the school and we will recognize this milestone in our programming. We have a vibrant new Healthcare SIG and we have also formed the Entrepreneurial Council to integrate the efforts of the SIG, NVC and Angels.
Our most popular events continue. We plan to once again participate in the Georgia Foundation for Non-Profits Summit to honor winners of our Social Enterprise Leadership scholarships. The Leadership Breakfast Series again has an outstanding line up of speakers. The Jobs in Transition SIG is sold out regularly and the Women’s SIG attracts many visitors from the community.
On the membership front, premium memberships have been enhanced to include a broader range of events. If you are an HBS alum, please consider joining the President’s Club to take advantage of this new benefit. If you are a Harvard Club of GA or ABSA member, please consider Alliance membership. The Club has been especially successful because of the patronage of premium members and sponsors throughout the years. We thank all of you for making this possible.
Our website is under reconstruction and we have a new club administrator CIJ Services led by Gabriela Sanchez. CIJ supports over 25 alumni clubs around the country.
Together with the Board of Directors we are honored to serve you and hope you will engage with your fellow alumni in the Club. The HBS brand is strong and we are only limited by our imagination. Let’s keep it vibrant in Atlanta.
