Serial Entrepreneurship

Serial Entrepreneurship is full of pitfalls and promises.  What are the keys to a successful repeat performance?  How do the lessons of one venture prepare the entrepreneur for the next endeavor?  How does the entrepreneur best identify the opportunities that offer both financial success and personal fulfillment?  We will attempt to answer these questions and others at our November Entrepreneur SIG meeting.  Come hear from one of Atlanta’s veteran serial entrepreneurs and join in the discussion.

Speaker's Bio:   Yum Arnold

Ms. Arnold is the CEO of Leapfrog Services, an Atlanta-based IT consulting company established in 1998. Prior to starting Leapfrog, Ms. Arnold acquired NCC LP, a local distributor of consumer goods to convenience stores and mass merchandisers. After acquiring the company through a leveraged buyout, Ms. Arnold spent the next 15 years building NCC into one of Georgia's five largest privately held companies. As its Chief Executive Officer, she expanded the company from a traditional one-warehouse distributor into a multi-faceted corporation with nine operating divisions. Ms. Arnold aggressively worked on behalf of her industry, serving on the board of its trade association and as its president and chair. The industry recognized her several times with leadership and business awards.

Before acquiring NCC, Ms. Arnold spent nearly 10 years with Coca-Cola USA, where she was the marketing manager for Coke's first plastic beverage containers. She also held several positions in sales, sales management and long range planning.

She serves on the Board of Directors of two NYSE firms, the Technology Association of Georgia and as a member of the Atlanta Committee for Progress.  She was named the 2002 Small Business Person of the Year by the Metropolitan Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and the Atlanta Business Chronicle and received the 2004 Lettie Pate Whitehead Evans Award for outstanding performance as a corporate director.

Ms. Arnold served for many years as a Trustee of Mary Baldwin College, most recently as Chair of its Board of Trustees and of The Westminster Schools, most recently as its Vice-Chair.  She has been active in YPO, CEO, WPO, The National Conference for Community and Justice, Leadership Atlanta, The Committee of 200, and as a mentor to younger women in the Atlanta business community.
